When: Saturday August 21, 1986
Where: The Mariott Hotel, Woodland Hills CA

Our 20 Year Reunion is now history and words cannot describe the excitement and joy we felt at seeing one another again. This web site is our best effort at recording some of the highlights of that night.

Nobody can deny we went "all out" for this party. The Marriott in Woodland Hills had just opened and so we got a great rate for the banquet hall and overnight rooms. They cut us an ice sculpture shaped like big "R" with punch flowing through it. The buffet was a big hit too, with a table of culinary delights that lined an entire wall! Charlie Ramirez and Shari King and about a dozen others performed a little skit with their pom poms aned cheerleader megaphones, rekindling memories of Friday night football.

We gave away dozens of door prizes (thanks to all who donated!) and everyone got a coffee mug and "T" shirt (imprinted with the names of all the classmates.) We hired a video taping company to come through the registration and food lines and interview everyone. Some were eager to share what they had been up to during the past 20 years while others weren't sure who this guy with the microphone was, and so shied away. The tape is a great time capsule in itself and should be fun to watch again in another ten or twenty years.

The band played all the songs we grew up loving and hating, and then toward the end of the evening, Brian Rich, Ken Delbo, and the old band from high school took the stage and played a set. It was just like Prom Night. Unforgettable. Thanks, Brian.

The following day there was a pot-luck picnic at Reseda Park, which most had not set foot in since graduation. It was truely weird to see the duck pond and baseball fields there again. Many crossed the footbridge to stare at the front entrance to the high school. Nothing was changed, and yet everything had changed.

Thanks again to all who helped put on this magnificent event. While these 20 years have been good to most of us, our deepest wish is that the best years for all are yet to come.
